What permits?


Long-Term Residence Permit appropriate for any person who has eight years of continuous residence on the Turkish residence permit, but no more than 120 days during any 12-month time frame outside of the Country.
Short-Term Permits are valid for 2 years, and passports have to have validity for the period of the permit being applied for and for 60 consecutive days. (120 days in Turkey within a 12-month ruling was revoked

The Student Resident Permit can be obtained for up to 12 months. It can only be granted with an authorization letter signed by the parent or legal guardian.


Does it allow me to expand?


Firstly, visit the website https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr to find out what sort of extension will apply to you. What kind of documents do I require?


An active, valid tourist or residency visa or permit.

What is the procedure?


Visit the E-Ikamet website https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ and fill in the online application form.
The first step is to select the “Application for Extension’ tab if you are applying to renew an expired permit or the First Application option for all other situations.
Make an appointment at the closest DGMM office and select the kind of permit you need.
The highlighted red fields have to be filled in. However, the black fields can assist in speeding the process.
When you’ve completed the process, you will see an application confirmation screen and a reference number, which you should get a note
Click on the “Residence Permit application document”. Then print it to bring along on your way to visit the DGMM office.
The application fee can be paid at GOC/DGMM offices, the branch of HALKBANK, or at your nearest Tax Office (Vergi Dairesi). You’ll need to present your tax identification number and your tax reference code 9069 to confirm that the payment is received and registered with an Ikamet card (or Ikamet tax) payment.
